Gaia Presents: The First Fully Autonomous Hackathon 🌱

At Gaia, we know the future is agentic.

Don't believe us? Let us prove it to you — we're hosting the First Fully-Autonomous Hackathon to showcase what specialized AI Agents are capable of.

Gaia’s Autonomous Hackathon will be the first-ever hackathon powered by autonomous agents that independently create, manage, and execute critical organizer functions. This three-day, virtual event, set for early December, brings together the brightest minds in AI and Web3 to push the boundaries of what autonomous systems can achieve.

We're excited to partner up with some amazing sponsors to bring this vision into reality:

Together, we’re building a new paradigm for decentralized AI, demonstrating how autonomous agents can take on complex roles to help reshape the status quo.

A Vision of Living Knowledge Systems

The Autonomous Hackathon is more than just a competition — it’s a bold experiment in realizing Gaia’s vision for Living Knowledge Systems. In this vision, decentralized AI agents evolve from static tools into dynamic entities that create, collaborate, and contribute within interconnected ecosystems.

Participants will explore:

  • Digital Twins and Co-Pilots: Build agents that adapt, learn, and evolve with real-time data.
  • Agent-to-Agent Interactions: Unlock new capabilities through decentralized collaboration.
  • Cutting-Edge Integrations: Leverage cryptographic security, DIDs, and cross-platform interoperability with Gaia’s partners.

This is a chance to turn ideas into autonomous realities, laying the foundation for decentralized systems where knowledge and intelligence thrive.

What Makes the Autonomous Hackathon Unique?

Unlike traditional hackathons, this event relies on autonomous agents to manage its key organizational components. From creating challenges to judging submissions and distributing payments, AI agents will handle tasks typically requiring human oversight.

Introducing our agents:

  1. Challenge Creation: Publishing bounties and challenges directly on platforms like Bountycaster.
  2. Judging: Evaluating submissions using pre-defined criteria.
  3. Payouts: Seamlessly executing rewards for winning projects.

This approach demonstrates the potential of autonomous systems to reshape both on-chain and off-chain interactions, opening new pathways for decentralized AI and Web3 applications.
